Job Description
Are you passionate about bringing creative visions to life? Do you enjoy hands-on work in a dynamic environment? We are seeking a motivated Parade Float Builder Helper to join our creative warehouse team. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the construction of large-scale artistic elements for parades and special events. You will work alongside experienced artisans and technicians, learning valuable skills in fabrication, assembly, and finishing. This role is perfect for individuals with a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to be part of a world-renowned creative production company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior builders and artisans in the fabrication and assembly of parade floats and large-scale props.
- Perform various tasks including cutting, shaping, sanding, painting, and detailing a variety of materials (wood, foam, metal, plastics).
- Help with the movement, setup, and dismantling of structures and components within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support inventory management by assisting with material handling and organization.
- Follow technical drawings, schematics, and instructions to ensure accurate construction.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of carpentry, painting, or general construction techniques.
- Ability to use hand tools and some power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Eagerness to learn and take direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in set design, theatrical production, model making, or similar creative fabrication roles.
- Familiarity with various artistic materials and finishing processes.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols in a workshop or warehouse setting.
- A diploma or certificate in a relevant trade or artistic field.
