Job Description

Join WPP plc, a global leader in marketing and communications, as a Google Social Media Strategist with a strong performance focus. This is a fully remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. We are looking for an analytical and creative strategist who can drive measurable results across Google’s social platforms, enhancing brand visibility and engagement for our diverse portfolio of clients. As a Google Social Media Strategist, you will be instrumental in developing and executing data-driven social media strategies that align with our clients’ business objectives. You will leverage your expertise in Google’s ecosystem, including YouTube, Google My Business, and potentially Google Ads for social extensions, to optimize campaigns for maximum performance and ROI. Your role will involve constant monitoring, analysis, and adaptation of strategies based on performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies specifically for Google's platforms (e.g., YouTube, Google My Business, Google Discover) with a strong emphasis on performance marketing objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth audience research, competitive analysis, and trend identification to inform strategic planning.
  • Manage and optimize social media campaigns, including content planning, scheduling, publishing, and paid social amplification on Google-related channels.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Utilize Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and other relevant analytics tools to track campaign effectiveness and ROI.
  • Collaborate with content creators, design teams, and clients to ensure alignment of social media strategy with broader marketing goals.
  • Stay abreast of the latest Google platform updates, algorithm changes, and social media trends to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage budgets for paid social campaigns on Google platforms, ensuring efficient spend and optimal performance.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in social media strategy, with a focus on performance marketing and Google platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of YouTube for brands, including content strategy, community management, and paid promotion.
  • Proficiency with Google My Business optimization for local search and social presence.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads (for social extensions), and other performance tracking tools.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop and execute data-driven social media campaigns that achieve measurable results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google Ads certification (Search, Display, Video).
  • Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO) on social platforms.
  • Background in agency or large enterprise marketing.
  • Familiarity with social listening tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
