Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Shopify Expert to join our digital team, focusing specifically on our sustainable and eco-friendly brand initiatives. This role is pivotal in enhancing our online presence, optimizing our e-commerce platforms, and ensuring our digital customer journey reflects our core values of sustainability and ethical consumerism. You will be responsible for the technical implementation, optimization, and maintenance of our Shopify stores, working closely with marketing, design, and product teams to deliver exceptional user experiences that align with our brand ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of multiple Shopify stores, focusing on sustainable and eco-friendly product lines.
- Implement and manage Shopify apps, integrations, and custom features to enhance site functionality and user experience.
- Collaborate with marketing and design teams to translate brand vision and campaign requirements into effective e-commerce solutions.
- Ensure all digital platforms adhere to best practices for SEO, performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
- Conduct regular audits and performance monitoring of Shopify stores, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Manage product catalogs, inventory synchronization, and complex pricing structures within Shopify.
- Develop and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Stay current with Shopify ecosystem updates, new features, and emerging e-commerce trends, especially those related to sustainability.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams on Shopify functionalities and best practices.
- Work with third-party vendors and agencies for specialized development or integration projects.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Shopify Developer or Expert.
- Proficiency in Shopify Liquid templating language.
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Shopify API and integrating third-party applications.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and development workflows.
- Demonstrable understanding of e-commerce best practices, UX/UI principles, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for sustainability and eco-friendly practices in e-commerce.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shopify Partner Certification or relevant e-commerce certifications.
- Experience with headless Shopify or Shopify Plus.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and implementing accessible design.
- Familiarity with A/B testing tools and methodologies.
- Previous experience working with a sustainable or ethical brand.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
