Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician for our evening and night shifts in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This critical role involves assisting pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service during non-standard hours. You will play a vital part in ensuring our patients receive their prescriptions accurately and efficiently, contributing to the health and wellness of our community. This position offers premium pay for evening and night hours, recognizing your commitment to our patients around the clock.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all legal and company guidelines.
- Process prescription orders efficiently, including data entry, insurance billing, and patient information updates.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications, and identifying expired drugs.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries, handling transactions, and resolving issues with professionalism.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workstation and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security procedures.
- Perform duties related to pharmacy operations during evening and night shifts, often with minimal supervision.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidential health information.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status or active registration with the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during evening and night shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working evening or night shifts in a retail pharmacy setting.
- Experience with automated dispensing systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish).
- Associate's degree in a related field.
