Job Description
Ascension St. John is seeking a welcoming and professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients, visitors, and staff at our busy Tulsa facility. This vital role is responsible for creating a positive initial impression, managing front desk operations efficiently, and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a commitment to exceptional patient service. This position offers a starting pay of $20/hour plus comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer multi-line phone system, direct calls, and take accurate messages.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, managing patient flow effectively.
- Maintain an organized and tidy reception area, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries efficiently.
- Process patient registrations, update records, and verify insurance information.
- Provide general administrative support to various departments as needed.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Assist with general inquiries and provide directional assistance to visitors.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated customer service-oriented mindset and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a healthcare or medical office setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
- Associate's degree in a related field.
