Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and driven Junior Xbox UI Designer with a strong focus on player interface to join our remote team. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring designer to contribute to the user experience of millions of gamers worldwide. You will work closely with senior designers and cross-functional teams to create intuitive, engaging, and accessible user interfaces for the Xbox platform, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable journey for every player.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of user interface components, screens, and interactions for the Xbox ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on player-facing features.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers, product managers, and engineers to translate user needs and business requirements into compelling UI designs.
  • Create wireframes, flowcharts, storyboards, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and user flows.
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback, user testing results, and technical constraints.
  • Ensure consistency across the Xbox UI, adhering to existing design systems and brand guidelines.
  • Participate in design critiques, offering and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Stay informed about current UI/UX trends, gaming industry standards, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Foundational understanding of UI/UX principles and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, and color theory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions.
  • A portfolio demonstrating design aptitude, personal projects, or academic work.
  • Passion for video games and an understanding of the gaming landscape.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with game-specific UI design challenges and player feedback loops.
  • Familiarity with the Xbox platform and its existing user interface.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accessibility standards in digital design.
