Job Description
Are you an exceptional typist with a keen ear for detail and a knack for problem-solving? Rev.com is seeking a highly motivated Remote Typing Expert to join our dynamic team, specializing in identifying and resolving issues within audio files to ensure the highest quality transcriptions. This is a unique opportunity to work from the comfort of your home, contribute to a leading global platform, and make audio content more accessible. You will be responsible for listening to diverse audio content, accurately transcribing it, and flagging/correcting any audio-related challenges that could impact transcription quality. This role is ideal for self-starters who thrive in a flexible, performance-driven environment and are passionate about precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe audio files of varying quality and content, converting spoken words into written text.
- Proactively identify and analyze audio problems such as background noise, multiple speakers, low volume, accents, or technical issues.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to mitigate audio challenges, ensuring the transcribed text reflects the true content despite imperfections.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and adherence to Rev.com's style guides and quality standards.
- Manage personal workload and meet specified turnaround times for transcription projects.
- Provide constructive feedback on audio quality issues to improve overall process efficiency.
- Continuously improve transcription and problem-solving skills through ongoing practice and feedback.
Required Skills
- Proven typing speed of at least 70 WPM with high accuracy.
- Exceptional listening skills and a sharp ear for detail and nuances in speech.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to navigate challenging audio scenarios.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- Proficiency in using transcription software and basic computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in transcription, data entry, or audio processing roles.
- Familiarity with various audio file formats and basic audio editing concepts.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
