Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, warm, and experienced Part-Time Nanny for a family in Irvine, CA. The primary focus of this role will be after-school pick-up and care for two school-aged children (ages 6 and 9) during the crucial hours of 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will be punctual, organized, and have a genuine love for children. You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition from school to home, engaging the children in age-appropriate activities, assisting with homework, and preparing light snacks/meals. A safe driving record and reliable transportation are essential for school pick-ups and occasional local errands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform after-school pick-ups from local schools promptly at 3:00 PM.
  • Safely transport children to and from extracurricular activities, playdates, or appointments.
  • Supervise and engage children in creative, educational, and recreational activities.
  • Assist with homework completion and provide academic support.
  • Prepare healthy after-school snacks and light meals.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized children's play area and living spaces.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children's daily activities and progress.
  • Adhere to the family's established routines and guidelines.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional childcare experience with school-aged children.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Reliable personal transportation with valid insurance.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create a stimulating and safe environment for children.
  • Patience, warmth, and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, child development, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as an after-school nanny or teacher's aide.
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate developmental milestones and activities.
  • Ability to assist with basic academic subjects (e.g., reading, math).
