Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Shopify Developer to join our dynamic e-commerce team in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading retail brand while enjoying the benefits of a 4-day work week. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our Shopify Plus e-commerce platform, ensuring a seamless and engaging shopping experience for our customers. Your work will directly impact our online sales and brand presence, requiring a blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom Shopify themes and apps using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Implement and integrate third-party APIs and services to extend Shopify functionality.
  • Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other developers to translate design mockups and business requirements into functional code.
  • Optimize website performance, responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to ensure high-quality, bug-free deployments.
  • Stay updated with the latest Shopify features, trends, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the Shopify platform.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience with Shopify theme development (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Proficiency in front-end development technologies (HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript ES6+).
  • Experience with Shopify Plus platform features and capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Ability to integrate with third-party APIs and web services (RESTful APIs).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Shopify Flow and Shopify Scripts experience.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
  • Understanding of SEO principles and performance optimization techniques for e-commerce.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
