Job Description

Ulta Beauty is seeking a dynamic and creative Beauty Editor Assistant to join our growing digital content team in Milwaukee. This role is perfect for a budding writer and content creator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a keen eye for beauty trends. You will support our Senior Beauty Editors in producing engaging and informative digital content across our website, blog, social media, and other platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Beauty Editors with research, writing, and editing of articles, blog posts, product descriptions, and social media captions.
- Contribute to content ideation and planning meetings, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.
- Conduct thorough research on beauty trends, new product launches, and industry news to inform content strategy.
- Optimize digital content for SEO, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement.
- Collaborate with marketing, social media, and design teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging and visual appeal.
- Manage content calendars and assist with scheduling and publishing across various digital channels.
- Proofread and fact-check all content for accuracy, grammar, style, and brand voice.
- Support administrative tasks related to content production, including asset management and internal communications.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (US English).
- Strong understanding of current beauty trends, products, and industry influencers.
- Proficiency in basic SEO principles for content optimization.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms and digital content formats.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A strong portfolio showcasing writing samples, preferably in the beauty or lifestyle space.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous internship or entry-level experience in digital media, publishing, or a beauty-focused role.
- Basic knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and project management tools.
- Experience with visual content creation or editing (e.g., Canva, basic photo editing software).
