Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and efficient Parcel Return Runner to join our team, focusing on the Central Business District (CBD) and inner-city areas of Kingston upon Hull. This vital role involves collecting returned parcels from various local businesses and designated drop-off points, ensuring their timely and secure return to our sorting facilities. You will be an integral part of our logistics chain, helping us maintain our high standards of service and customer satisfaction. This is a dynamic role best suited for individuals who enjoy being active and navigating urban environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently collect returned parcels from a designated route within the CBD and inner-city areas of Kingston upon Hull.
- Verify parcel details and ensure proper documentation for each return.
- Safely transport parcels using company-provided equipment or vehicle (if applicable) to local sorting hubs or designated collection points.
- Adhere to scheduled routes and timelines, ensuring prompt collection and delivery.
- Communicate effectively with business partners and customers regarding collections.
- Maintain accurate records of collections and deliveries.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the team leader promptly.
- Follow all company safety protocols and traffic regulations.
Required Skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry parcels of varying sizes and weights.
- Familiarity with Kingston upon Hull city center and surrounding areas.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, courier, or logistics role.
- A valid UK driving license (Category B) is a plus, though not always required for all roles within this category.
- Knowledge of parcel tracking systems or mobile delivery applications.
