Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our esteemed team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor vital signs accurately and safely.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate and support families regarding their child's condition, treatment, and ongoing care needs.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, adhering to all professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for pediatric patients, adhering to infection control policies.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, demonstrating critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
Required Skills
- Valid Nursing Registration (NMC registration or eligibility for registration for international applicants)
- Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience in a pediatric setting
- Excellent clinical skills relevant to pediatric nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Right to work in the UK (or eligible for Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BScN)
- Specialist pediatric qualification or advanced training
- Experience with electronic patient record systems
- Proven experience mentoring junior staff or students
