Job Description
Knight-Swift Transportation is actively seeking dedicated and experienced Regional Flatbed Drivers to join our growing team in Tucson, AZ. This is an exciting opportunity for professional drivers who excel in navigating diverse routes and handling specialized cargo. As a Regional Flatbed Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of goods across designated regional routes, primarily utilizing flatbed trailers. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a flatbed truck on regional routes, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Secure various types of cargo using appropriate tie-downs, chains, binders, and tarps, ensuring load stability and safety.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to delivery schedules and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Represent Knight-Swift Transportation professionally at all times, ensuring customer satisfaction with on-time and damage-free deliveries.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL with flatbed endorsement.
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable flatbed driving experience.
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) and driving history.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with tarping and securing loads.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on the road.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with oversized or specialized loads.
- Hazardous Material (HazMat) endorsement.
- Experience with ELD (Electronic Logging Device) systems.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven track record of safe driving and on-time deliveries.
