Job Description
Join FedEx Ground as a Package Handler/Sorter and play a crucial role in our logistics network. We’re looking for motivated individuals to help us sort and move packages through our fast-paced facility in Lubbock, TX. With all shifts available, you can find a schedule that fits your life. This is a physically demanding role that offers excellent opportunities for career growth within a global company. No prior experience is necessary – we provide comprehensive training!
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from trucks and conveyors by hand, scanning and sorting according to destination.
- Handle packages with care and attention to safety to prevent damage.
- Operate scanning equipment to track package movement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily productivity goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted and maneuver heavier packages with appropriate equipment or assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and carry for extended periods.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, warehouse environment.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or physical labor role.
- Ability to read and interpret package labels and routing information.
- Experience using scanning devices or other material handling equipment.
