Job Description
Swift Transportation is seeking highly motivated and experienced Independent Contractor Truck Drivers to partner with us in Oklahoma City, OK. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Manage and optimize personal driving schedules and routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including logs, bills of lading, and expense reports.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of freight.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) and no history of serious traffic violations
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Commitment to safety and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an owner-operator or independent contractor
- Familiarity with various freight types and hauling methods
- Proficiency with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to use navigation and dispatch software effectively
