Job Description
We are seeking a enthusiastic and patient Part-Time Guitar Instructor to join our team, specializing in teaching beginner students. This role is perfect for someone with a strong foundation in guitar, a genuine passion for music education, and a desire to guide new learners through their first steps in playing the guitar. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons, helping students build fundamental skills, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for music. This is an on-site position with competitive weekly pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging guitar lessons for beginner students, covering fundamentals such as chords, strumming patterns, basic music theory, and proper technique.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles and paces.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and fun learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding progress and upcoming lessons.
- Prepare students for recitals or performance opportunities, if applicable.
- Maintain a clean and organized teaching space.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall student experience.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in acoustic and/or electric guitar playing.
- Strong understanding of fundamental music theory relevant to beginner guitarists.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and adults new to music.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in teaching or tutoring, even informally.
- A degree or certification in Music Education or a related field.
- Experience performing in a band or as a solo artist.
- Familiarity with various teaching methodologies for music instruction.
