Job Description

Emory University Hospital Midtown is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Hospital Porter. This non-clinical role is crucial for the efficient operation of our hospital, ensuring a smooth flow of patients, equipment, and supplies. As a Hospital Porter, you will provide essential support to our medical staff, patients, and visitors, contributing directly to a positive and safe hospital environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds between departments (e.g., admissions, wards, operating rooms, diagnostic areas).
  • Move medical equipment, laboratory samples, patient records, and supplies throughout the hospital.
  • Assist with the transfer of patients to and from beds, trolleys, and examination tables.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of transport equipment before and after use.
  • Respond promptly to requests for portering services from various hospital departments.
  • Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
