Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Modern Skirting Gluer to join our finish carpentry team. This role is crucial for ensuring the high-quality, clean, and seamless finish of skirting boards in our residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a steady hand, and a commitment to precision, contributing significantly to the overall aesthetic and craftsmanship of our homes. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces thoroughly for the application of skirting boards, ensuring they are clean, dry, and smooth.
  • Accurately measure, cut, and miter skirting boards to fit various wall configurations and room dimensions.
  • Apply adhesives precisely and consistently to skirting boards, ensuring optimal adhesion and minimal excess.
  • Install skirting boards with a focus on achieving perfectly aligned joints, clean lines, and a flawless finish.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure it meets Mosaic Homes' rigorous quality standards and aesthetic expectations.
  • Perform touch-ups and minor repairs as needed to achieve a pristine appearance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all company safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with other trades and team members to ensure project timelines are met.

Required Skills

  • Proven precision and exceptional attention to detail in finish work.
  • Proficiency in accurately reading measurements and using measuring tools.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and techniques, including saws and adhesives.
  • Good physical dexterity, stamina, and the ability to work in various positions.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1+ year) in finish carpentry, trim installation, or a similar trade.
  • Familiarity with various types of adhesives and their appropriate applications.
  • Understanding of construction site safety procedures.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites in the Vancouver area.
