Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and physically capable Weekend Trailer Loader to join our Bakersfield team. This stable, part-time position is crucial for our weekend operations, ensuring that trailers are loaded efficiently and safely for timely dispatch. You will be responsible for manually loading and unloading freight, verifying cargo, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually load and unload freight from trailers, containers, and other vehicles.
- Organize and stack merchandise according to established procedures.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests or invoices.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, if certified.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Report any damaged items or discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational goals.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly and frequently throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for weekend shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
