Job Description
Are you a true coffee enthusiast who thrives in a fast-paced environment and doesn’t mind an early start? Costa Coffee in Chesterfield is looking for passionate and energetic Baristas to join our vibrant team. If you love creating perfect coffee, connecting with customers, and being an integral part of a bustling coffee shop, this is the role for you. You’ll be the face of Costa, ensuring every customer leaves with a smile and a perfectly crafted beverage. This role requires commitment to early morning shifts to prepare for the day’s rush, so reliability and a morning-person attitude are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks to Costa Coffee standards.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment with precision.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee bar, equipment, and customer areas.
- Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash and card transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Assist with stocking, inventory management, and display setup.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
- Ensure fresh pastries and food items are available and well-presented.
Required Skills
- Genuine passion for coffee and the desire to learn and master latte art.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role.
- Basic food hygiene certification.
- Knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods.
