Job Description
As a Microsoft Compliance Officer with a regulatory focus at Deloitte, you will play a critical role in guiding our clients through the complex landscape of regulatory compliance within the Microsoft ecosystem. This 100% remote position requires an expert understanding of various regulatory frameworks, Microsoft compliance tools, and the ability to develop and implement robust compliance strategies. You will be responsible for advising clients on best practices, conducting compliance assessments, and ensuring their operations adhere to relevant laws and industry standards, leveraging Microsoft 365 Compliance capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement compliance programs for clients, specifically leveraging Microsoft 365 Compliance solutions (e.g., Compliance Manager, Information Protection, eDiscovery).
- Monitor and interpret new and existing regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, NIST, ISO 27001) and assess their impact on client operations within the Microsoft environment.
- Conduct comprehensive compliance risk assessments, identify potential vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Advise clients on data governance, privacy, and security best practices tailored to Microsoft platforms.
- Collaborate with client legal, IT, and business teams to ensure alignment on compliance objectives and implementation efforts.
- Prepare and present detailed compliance reports, findings, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of developments in Microsoft's compliance offerings and regulatory changes globally.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 Compliance capabilities (e.g., Purview, Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, eDiscovery).
- Deep understanding of major regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Proven ability to conduct compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience advising large organizations on complex compliance matters.
- Proficiency in project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CISM, CISSP, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity).
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Experience in a consulting environment.
- Familiarity with other cloud compliance platforms.
