Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Logistics Sorter and play a critical role in our bustling distribution center in New Port Richey, FL. This full-time position offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, providing you with reliable income and weekends off. As a Sorter, you will be responsible for the efficient processing of packages, ensuring they are accurately scanned, sorted, and loaded for their next destination. This is a physically active role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining our high standards of operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort and organize packages according to designated routes and delivery points.
- Load and unload packages from trailers and conveyor belts, using proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
- Operate scanning equipment to track packages and ensure accurate inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and productive environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of materials.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 pounds repeatedly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
