Job Description

Are you an aspiring digital marketer with a keen interest in Google Ads and a passion for data-driven strategy? Merkle is seeking a Junior Content Strategist (Google Ads) to join our dynamic and fully remote team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals eager to kickstart their career in performance marketing, working with some of the world’s leading brands. You will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and optimizing compelling ad copy and content strategies within Google Ads, ensuring our clients achieve their marketing objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research, development, and execution of engaging ad copy for Google Ads campaigns across various industries.
  • Support senior strategists in keyword research, competitor analysis, and audience segmentation to inform content strategy.
  • Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities for optimization of ad content and creative assets.
  • Contribute to regular reporting by analyzing content performance metrics and providing actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with broader marketing teams to ensure content consistency and alignment with overall campaign goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Google Ads features, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Participate in client meetings and internal strategy sessions, contributing ideas and learning from experienced professionals.

Required Skills

  • Strong interest in digital marketing, particularly Google Ads and search engine marketing (SEM).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative remote team.
  • Proactive and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics or other web analytics platforms.
  • Previous experience (academic projects, internships, personal ventures) with Google Ads.
  • Google Ads certification (Search, Display, etc.) is a plus.
