Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented Admissions Essay Reviewers to join our team for the seasonal peak admissions cycle. This is a fully remote, contract position, perfect for individuals passionate about education and with a keen eye for compelling storytelling and persuasive writing. As an Admissions Essay Reviewer, you will play a crucial role in helping students refine their application essays, ensuring their unique voices shine through while meeting the rigorous standards of top universities. You will provide constructive feedback, identify areas for improvement in structure, content, grammar, and overall impact, and help students craft essays that stand out. This role offers the flexibility of working from home and the opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ futures during a critical time.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and provide in-depth, constructive feedback on college and graduate school admissions essays, personal statements, and supplementary essays.
- Assess essays for clarity, coherence, grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and overall effectiveness.
- Offer strategic guidance on essay content, structure, and theme development to align with specific university prompts and admissions goals.
- Help students articulate their unique experiences and strengths in a compelling manner.
- Ensure feedback is actionable, easy to understand, and respectful of the student's voice and intent.
- Manage a caseload of essays and adhere to strict deadlines during peak season.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions with student work.
