Job Description
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for digital marketing and a keen interest in how search engines work? Wavemaker is seeking a Junior SEO Specialist to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a fantastic remote opportunity for an enthusiastic individual eager to kickstart their career in Search Engine Optimization, with a particular focus on Google’s algorithms and best practices. You’ll work on exciting projects, learn from industry experts, and contribute to the success of leading brands. This role is designed for graduates, providing comprehensive training and mentorship to help you develop into a skilled SEO professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in keyword research to identify high-value search terms and opportunities for clients.
- Support technical SEO audits, identifying issues and recommending solutions for website optimization.
- Conduct competitor analysis to identify industry trends and best practices.
- Help with content optimization, ensuring it aligns with SEO best practices and user intent.
- Monitor and report on SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO platforms.
- Participate in the development and execution of link-building strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry news, especially those related to Google.
- Collaborate with content, social media, and paid media teams to ensure integrated digital strategies.
- Prepare clear and concise reports on SEO campaign performance and insights.
Required Skills
- Recent graduate (within the last 2 years) with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Demonstrable interest in digital marketing and Search Engine Optimization.
- Basic understanding of how search engines like Google work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High level of initiative, eagerness to learn, and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Experience with any SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz) through academic projects or personal use.
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Previous internship or project experience in digital marketing or SEO.
