Job Description

Bright Horizons in Worthing is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Assistant to join our team. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support the planning and implementation of engaging and age-appropriate activities, including creative play, storytelling, and outdoor exploration.
- Help to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised nursery space, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Observe and record children's progress, contributing to their developmental records.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing updates on their child's day and fostering strong partnerships.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient daily routine.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
Required Skills
- A genuine love for working with young children and a passion for early years education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, BTEC).
- Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting.
- Current Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
