Job Description

Extendicare in New Sudbury is seeking enthusiastic Residential Care Workers for our night shift, with full training provided – no prior experience necessary! Key Responsibilities
- Monitor residents' well-being and safety throughout the night, conducting regular checks.
- Assist residents with personal care tasks as needed, respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Document observations, incidents, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to resident calls and emergency situations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a sense of security.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in resident rooms and common areas.
- Communicate effectively with other team members, including nurses and day shift staff, to ensure continuity of care.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and empathy for seniors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and strong work ethic, particularly for night shifts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for documentation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous volunteer or informal care experience.
- Understanding of the needs of seniors or individuals with varying health conditions.
