Job Description
Join Taylor Farms as an Agricultural Hauler for our seasonal harvest operations! We are seeking experienced and reliable drivers to transport freshly harvested crops from our fields to processing facilities. This critical role ensures the seamless flow of produce, contributing directly to our mission of providing healthy food. Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy agricultural trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
- Transport a variety of harvested crops from various farm locations to designated processing plants.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of produce to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate daily logbooks, delivery manifests, and other required documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with field supervisors, dispatch, and processing facility personnel.
- Perform minor routine maintenance and cleaning of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Be available for flexible scheduling, including long hours, early mornings, evenings, and weekends during peak harvest periods.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience operating heavy agricultural equipment and hauling large loads.
- Thorough understanding of DOT regulations pertaining to commercial vehicle operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with all procedures.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agricultural environment.
- Willingness to work irregular hours and flexible shifts dictated by harvest schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience specifically hauling perishable agricultural products.
- Familiarity with various types of farm machinery and trailer configurations.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
