Job Description

BrightStar Care in Long Beach is urgently seeking dedicated Non-Medical Caregivers with a strong focus on companionship to join our team. This is an incredible opportunity to provide essential support and friendship to clients in their homes, helping them maintain independence and quality of life. Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm and engaging companionship to clients, fostering a supportive and friendly environment.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, light exercise, or conversation.
- Assist with light household tasks, including meal preparation, tidying up, and laundry.
- Accompany clients on errands, appointments, or social outings.
- Offer personal care assistance as needed, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming (if applicable and within scope).
- Monitor and report any changes in client's health, behavior, or living conditions to the care coordinator.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
- Provide medication reminders as directed by a care plan.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Basic understanding of household tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving or companion role (even informal).
- Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a plus, but not required.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
