Job Description

Are you passionate about technology and solving technical challenges in a hands-on environment? Best Buy Canada is seeking a dedicated Hardware Support Tech with a focus on Concentrix In-Home Repair to join our dynamic Geek Squad team in Vancouver. In this role, you will be the face of our technical support, traveling to customer homes to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of hardware issues. From computers and peripherals to smart home devices, you will provide expert service, ensuring our customers’ technology is working perfectly. This position requires strong technical acumen, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work independently to resolve complex technical problems directly at the customer’s location. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-home diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of various hardware components for computers, laptops, peripherals, and smart home devices.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, software, and hardware in customer homes.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support and guidance to customers, explaining solutions clearly and patiently.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional, courteous, and efficient service delivery.
  • Manage and maintain a service schedule, ensuring timely arrival for appointments and effective time management for each repair.
  • Document all service calls, repairs performed, and parts used accurately in the service management system.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and service standards during in-home visits.
  • Recommend relevant products and services to customers based on their needs and system requirements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hardware troubleshooting and repair (PC, laptops, peripherals).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues across various operating systems (Windows, macOS).
  • Strong understanding of computer networking principles (Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for in-home service calls.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with smart home device installation and troubleshooting.
  • Previous experience in a field service or in-home repair role.
  • Familiarity with remote diagnostic tools and software.
