Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Pharmacy Technician for our weekend ‘Warrior Shifts’ in New Port Richey, Florida. This role offers top-tier rates for individuals committed to providing exceptional patient care during crucial weekend hours. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring a smooth, efficient pharmacy operation. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process new prescriptions and refill requests, ensuring all necessary information is obtained and entered correctly.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering patient questions, and resolving issues under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain patient profiles and ensure data accuracy in the pharmacy management system.
- Handle cash register operations, process payments, and manage co-pays.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including pharmacy workstations and equipment.
- Assist with insurance claim processing and resolve common rejection issues.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and other pharmacy staff.
Required Skills
- Current State of Florida Pharmacy Technician registration/license in good standing.
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification.
- Minimum 6 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems and software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Reliable and punctual attendance, especially for weekend shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with CVS pharmacy systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Experience in a high-volume pharmacy setting.
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
