Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Apparel Fitting Room Auditor to join our team in San Jose, CA. This crucial role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of our merchandise within the fitting room areas, preventing loss, and maintaining an organized and presentable environment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to upholding Nordstrom’s high standards of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of fitting rooms to ensure merchandise accuracy and prevent shrinkage.
- Monitor fitting room occupancy and customer flow, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
- Organize and re-hang clothing returned from fitting rooms, ensuring items are correctly sized, tagged, and ready for return to the sales floor.
- Identify and report any damaged, misplaced, or potentially stolen merchandise to management.
- Collaborate with sales associates and loss prevention teams to address any discrepancies or security concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of fitting room areas, including sanitization protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and merchandise tracking as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to loss prevention and store operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting and inventory tracking.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly throughout a shift.

- 1+ year of experience in retail operations, loss prevention, or inventory management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with retail security systems and procedures.
