Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aviation, Marine & Niche Specialist to join our dynamic team in Cochrane, Alberta. This role is pivotal in providing expert risk management and insurance solutions to clients operating in complex aviation, marine, and other specialized sectors. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships, assessing unique risks, designing comprehensive insurance programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients within the aviation, marine, and niche sectors, providing expert advice on risk management and insurance strategies.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for clients, identifying potential exposures specific to their operations and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Design, negotiate, and implement complex insurance programs with carriers, ensuring optimal coverage and cost-effectiveness for clients.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in the aviation, marine, and niche markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and policy documentation for clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including claims, legal, and other specialty groups, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in business development activities to expand the client base and promote Marsh's specialized services.
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance broking or risk management, with a specific focus on aviation, marine, or other niche commercial lines.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing complex risks and structuring tailored insurance solutions.
- Strong understanding of insurance principles, policy wordings, and market dynamics within specialized sectors.
- Excellent client relationship management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively with insurance carriers.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Aviation Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- Professional insurance designation such as CIP, CRM, or FCIP.
- Experience working with international clients or in a global insurance environment.
