Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and diligent Crop Pickers to join our farming operations near Reading for the upcoming harvest season. This temporary role is crucial for ensuring the timely and careful harvesting of a variety of arable crops and soft fruits, maintaining the high-quality standards BerryWorld Group is known for. You will be an integral part of our farm team, working outdoors in a dynamic and supportive environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in agricultural practices and contribute to the food supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hand-picking and packing various crops, including soft fruits (e.g., strawberries, raspberries) and selected arable produce, according to specific quality guidelines.
  • Carefully inspecting produce for ripeness, damage, or disease before picking.
  • Ensuring efficient and accurate recording of picked quantities.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards on the farm.
  • Working collaboratively with team members and following instructions from supervisors.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Operating basic farm equipment as required (training provided).
  • Reporting any issues with crop quality or plant health to farm management.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and care.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (rain, sun, cold).
  • Physical fitness and stamina to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agricultural work or fruit picking is a plus, but not essential as full training will be provided.
