Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and reliable CDL-A Over-The-Road (OTR) Drivers to join our dynamic team in Edison, NJ. This is an incredible opportunity for experienced drivers looking for high earning potential with a competitive CPM, along with a generous $5,000 sign-on bonus. As an OTR Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods across designated long-haul routes. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle over long distances, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any issues.
- Manage and maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle service, and cargo information.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight, communicating any delays or issues to dispatch.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including hazardous material handling and securement procedures.
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance while representing XPO Logistics.
- Perform minor roadside repairs as needed and safely.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and submit it in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of freight and trailers (e.g., dry van, reefer)
- Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Familiarity with GPS and route optimization software
