Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join our night shift team in Cincinnati. This is a crucial role for an experienced professional passionate about providing critical care to patients in their most vulnerable state. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in the ICU setting.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, interpret results, and intervene as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
- Manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and other critical care equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans, and recovery process.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to medical emergencies.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in an acute care Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS may be required for specific units).
- Proficiency in critical care assessment, intervention, and monitoring techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCRNCertification (Critical Care Registered Nurse).
- Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic.
- Previous experience precepting or mentoring new nurses.
