Job Description
Join Tesco as a Cold Store Picker and become a crucial part of our chilled distribution team in Dundee. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring our shelves are stocked with fresh, quality products. You will be responsible for accurately picking customer orders within a chilled storage facility, maintaining product integrity, and contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders within a chilled warehouse environment (-5°C to 5°C).
- Operate manual handling equipment (e.g., pallet trucks, pump trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality checks on products to ensure they meet Tesco standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and reporting discrepancies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily picking targets.
- Be proactive in identifying and resolving issues to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a consistently chilled environment (appropriate PPE will be provided).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move goods regularly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels and count stock.
- Adherence to health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cold storage environment.
- Experience operating manual handling equipment (MHE) such as pallet trucks.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
