Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Commercial Jet Washer to join our heavy industrial cleaning team in Aurora, CO. This full-time position offers high pay for individuals committed to maintaining the pristine appearance and cleanliness of commercial aircraft. You will be responsible for the thorough exterior cleaning of various jet aircraft using specialized industrial equipment and adhering to strict aviation safety and environmental protocols. This role requires significant physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in an outdoor, fast-paced airport environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial-grade pressure washers, scissor lifts, and other specialized cleaning machinery to meticulously clean aircraft exteriors, landing gear, engine cowlings, and other components.
- Apply appropriate cleaning agents, de-greasers, and protectants safely and effectively, following manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all aviation safety regulations, company policies, environmental guidelines, and quality standards during all cleaning operations.
- Conduct pre-cleaning inspections of aircraft surfaces for existing damage or discrepancies and report findings to supervisors immediately.
- Work efficiently and safely as part of a team in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring proper care, maintenance, and storage of all tools and equipment.
- Participate in mandatory ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and any potential issues.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 12 months (1 year) of verifiable experience in industrial cleaning, heavy equipment operation, or a similar physically demanding role.
- Proven ability to safely and efficiently operate high-pressure washing equipment and other industrial cleaning tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to understand, follow, and execute complex instructions and safety procedures with precision.
- Excellent physical stamina, capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, and working at heights using appropriate safety gear.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening as required for airport access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically in aviation ground services, aircraft exterior cleaning, or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environments.
- Familiarity with various types of commercial aircraft (e.g., Airbus, Boeing) and their exterior components.
- Relevant certifications in industrial cleaning, confined space entry, or elevated work platform operation.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and maintaining cleaning equipment.
- Aviation security clearance or ability to obtain one.
