Job Description

Are you passionate about the beauty industry and looking for an entry-level opportunity to start your career? Northumberland College is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Cosmetology School Receptionist to join our team in Blyth. This role is perfect for someone with excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour, eager to be the first point of contact for our cosmetology students, prospective clients, and visitors. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our reception area, providing administrative support, and contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere within our vibrant campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Manage the reception area, including answering phones, directing calls, and taking messages.
  • Schedule appointments for student services, consultations, and salon bookings.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Maintain organised filing systems, both digital and physical.
  • Process student registrations and financial transactions accurately.
  • Provide information about cosmetology courses, services, and general college inquiries.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks and data entry as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the reception area.
  • Support the wider college team with various ad-hoc tasks.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • A friendly, professional, and welcoming demeanour.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
