Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Entry Level Shipping and Receiving Clerk with a strong focus on data management to join our team in Irvine, CA. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining precise inventory records, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations through meticulous data entry and verification. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or other documentation.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and documenting parcels according to FedEx standards and customer requirements.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software for accurate data entry of all shipping and receiving activities.
- Maintain precise inventory records, perform cycle counts, and report discrepancies to management.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external drivers regarding shipment status and issues.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as needed to support operational goals.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (even non-professional or volunteer experience).
- Familiarity with inventory management principles.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software.
- Certification in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
