Job Description
Are you a motivated and energetic 17-year-old looking for an exciting part-time opportunity to gain valuable work experience? Ashley HomeStore is seeking enthusiastic Delivery Assistants to join our dynamic team in Costa Mesa. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our customers receive their new appliances and furniture safely and efficiently. You’ll work alongside experienced delivery drivers, assisting with loading, unloading, and setting up products in customer homes. This is an excellent chance to develop your physical strength, teamwork skills, and customer service abilities in a supportive environment. No prior experience is necessary; we provide all the training you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead delivery drivers with loading and unloading furniture and appliances onto delivery trucks.
- Carefully transport items into customers' homes, ensuring no damage to property or products.
- Help with the assembly and placement of furniture as required in the customer's home.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Verify product accuracy against delivery manifests.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during transport and setup.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the delivery truck and warehouse area.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly with assistance.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Punctuality and a commitment to attendance.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or physical labor role is a plus, but not required.
- Enrollment in high school or equivalent educational program.
- Basic understanding of furniture assembly (training will be provided).
