Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and energetic Drywall Mud Mixing Assistant to join our fast-paced team. This crucial support role ensures our drywall installers have a continuous supply of perfectly mixed mud, contributing directly to project efficiency and quality. You will be responsible for preparing various types of joint compound, maintaining a clean work environment, and assisting installers with material handling and other support tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure and mix various types of drywall joint compound (e.g., taping, topping, all-purpose) to desired consistency, following specific instructions and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ensure a consistent supply of mixed mud is available to installers throughout the workday.
  • Transport mixed mud and other materials (e.g., drywall sheets, tools) to various work areas on-site.
  • Maintain a clean and organized mud mixing station and general work areas, including tools and equipment.
  • Assist drywall installers with basic tasks such as fetching tools, holding drywall sheets, and performing minor cleanup.
  • Monitor inventory of mud and related supplies, reporting needs to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Perform general site cleanup at the end of the workday.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise mixing instructions.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a construction or manual labor role.
  • Experience working with drywall materials or tools.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification.
