Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) Technician to join our world-class maintenance team in Memphis, TN. This pivotal role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on a wide range of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within our advanced manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical systems, PLCs, motor controls, and process instrumentation, with a commitment to safety and operational efficiency. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliable operation of our production machinery and infrastructure, contributing directly to our continuous success.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial control systems, motors, VFDs, and switchgear.
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair various types of instrumentation including transmitters, sensors, and control valves.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and instrumentation issues on production equipment, often under time constraints.
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and other maintenance teams to optimize plant performance and implement improvements.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response as required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems (up to 480V).
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) – Allen-Bradley preferred.
- Strong understanding of motor control circuits, VFDs, and servo drives.
- Ability to calibrate and maintain process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Automation.
- 5+ years of experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment (e.g., pulp & paper, chemical, food processing).
- Experience with SAP PM or similar CMMS.
- Advanced PLC programming and networking knowledge.
- Welding or fabrication skills a plus.
