Job Description
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to start your career in healthcare? Advocate Health is seeking enthusiastic Entry Level Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our night shift team in Schaumburg. This is an immediate hire opportunity for individuals who are passionate about patient care, even without prior experience. We provide comprehensive training and a supportive environment to help you grow your skills. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Help patients with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients.
- Respond to patient calls promptly and effectively.
- Document care provided accurately in patient records.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses and other healthcare team members.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Illinois, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move patients with assistance
- Basic computer proficiency for charting and documentation
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting (volunteer or clinical rotation)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Understanding of medical terminology
