Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Equestrian Center Event Assistant to support our weekend horse shows. This part-time, on-site role is perfect for individuals passionate about horses and events, looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic equestrian environment. You will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our events, working closely with the Event Coordinator and other staff to ensure a positive experience for all participants and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arena preparation, banner placement, and stall assignments.
- Greet participants and spectators, providing directions and general information about the facility and event schedule.
- Support check-in processes for competitors, ensuring all required paperwork is complete.
- Monitor event areas to ensure safety and adherence to facility rules.
- Help manage parking and traffic flow during peak event times.
- Provide basic administrative support as needed, such as filing or data entry.
- Assist with award presentations and prize distribution.
- Be a proactive team member, ready to assist where needed to ensure successful event execution.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work weekends, as horse shows primarily occur on Saturdays and Sundays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with horses or in an equestrian setting.
- Experience in event coordination or support roles.
- Familiarity with horse show procedures and etiquette.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
