Job Description
Tyson Foods is seeking diligent and detail-oriented Food Prep Packers to join our team in Memphis, TN. This vital role involves preparing and packing a variety of food products within a cold room environment, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a chilled setting and committed to maintaining efficiency and precision in all tasks. Premium pay is offered for this specialized cold room position.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh, label, and package food products according to company standards and specifications.
- Operate basic food processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all sanitation and food safety regulations.
- Monitor product quality, identifying and reporting any defects or inconsistencies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals in a fast-paced cold room environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cold room environment (temperatures typically ranging from 34-40°F / 1-4°C).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food processing, packing, or a similar production role.
- Familiarity with HACCP or other food safety programs.
- High school diploma or GED.
