Job Description
Are you an online student with a passion for video games and an eagle eye for detail? Gearbox Software is looking for enthusiastic Game Testers to join our quality assurance team in Frisco, TX. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate your studies, allowing you to contribute to the development of exciting new titles. You’ll play a crucial role in identifying bugs, providing feedback, and ensuring the highest quality standards for our games before they reach our global audience. Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and identify software bugs, glitches, and other defects in pre-release game builds.
- Document and report all findings clearly and concisely using our bug tracking systems.
- Perform regression testing to verify bug fixes and ensure no new issues have been introduced.
- Provide constructive feedback on gameplay, usability, and overall player experience.
- Collaborate effectively with developers, designers, and other QA team members.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality work consistently.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding unreleased game content and information.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for video games across various genres and platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot subtle inconsistencies.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills for clear bug reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with different software applications.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Currently enrolled in an online educational program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
