Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Golf Resort Porter to join our esteemed team at Rudding Park. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and pristine condition of our outdoor golf facilities, contributing directly to the high-quality experience our guests expect. You will be responsible for assisting guests with their golf equipment, maintaining golf buggies and range facilities, and supporting general grounds maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to a luxurious resort environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist guests with the loading and unloading of golf clubs and equipment.
- Manage the golf buggy fleet, ensuring they are clean, charged, and in excellent working order.
- Maintain the driving range, including collecting golf balls, tidying bays, and ensuring equipment is functional.
- Support the greenskeeping team with basic outdoor maintenance tasks as required.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of outdoor events and tournaments on the golf course.
- Perform routine checks and minor repairs on golf course equipment and facilities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all outdoor storage areas related to golf operations.
- Act as a visible and helpful point of contact for guests, providing directions and general assistance.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry golf bags and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused approach.
- Proactive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A full UK driving license, preferably with experience driving utility vehicles.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospitality or golf course setting.
- Basic knowledge of golf rules and etiquette.
- An interest in grounds maintenance or outdoor work.
- First Aid certification.
