Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Gym Maintenance Hand to join our team in Coventry. This vital role ensures our gym facilities are always in top condition, providing a safe, clean, and functional environment for our members. You will be responsible for general repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of all gym equipment and building systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of gym equipment and facilities, identifying and addressing maintenance issues.
  • Carry out general repairs including basic plumbing, electrical fixes, carpentry, and painting.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on fitness machines, ensuring they are safe and fully operational.
  • Assist with the assembly and installation of new equipment as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of maintenance workshop and storage areas.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and members.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in general handyman or maintenance roles.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical and structural issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a gym or leisure facility environment.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or certification in a trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
  • First Aid certification.
