Job Description
Kansas City Public Schools is seeking dedicated and reliable High School Service Staff to join our team, supporting the daily operations of our high school facilities. This vital role ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, faculty, and visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Perform custodial duties including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Support event setup and breakdown for school activities, sports, and community functions during assigned shifts.
- Monitor and secure facilities during assigned shifts, reporting any incidents or maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Respond to urgent cleaning or facility needs as they arise.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and district policies.
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members and school administration.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality for assigned morning and evening shifts.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial, maintenance, or service roles, especially within a school or institutional setting.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and cleaning protocols.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
